  • Yoga Hero Leeds, England, LS10 1PZ United Kingdom (map)

Deeply understand two important but often unexplored areas of yoga; the fascia and energetic anatomy, and the unique relationship these two share.

Myofascial Release, Energetic Anatomy and Yin Yoga

Yoga is so much more than just the asanas, it affects all of our anatomical systems, our state of mind, overall mental health… and so much more.

This course: Myofascial Release, Energetic Anatomy and Yin Yoga, part of our 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training, is designed to deeply explore two important but often unexplored areas of yoga; the fascia and energetic anatomy, and the unique relationship these two share.

Both fascial anatomy and energetic anatomy have a huge impact on our physical and mental wellbeing. This training will break down what fascia is, how it impacts our physical and mental health, and how to use this knowledge to create a rewarding and therapeutic practice for ourselves and our yogis, before exploring yoga’s subtle energy; prana, nadis, chakras and prana vayus and the role of prana in understanding holistic health.  We’ll then go on to understand the relationship between movement, myofascial release, energetic anatomy and how we feel.

Expect to graduate with a whole host of options now at your disposal to layer on to your classes, feeling inspired and ready to teach what you’ve learned, and to integrate learnings in to your own practice for your own wellbeing.

Course Objectives:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of fascial anatomy, including structure, function, and significance in movement, proprioception, and emotional release

  • Explore a variety of myofascial release techniques using tools such as foam rollers, balls and self-massage, and learn how to apply them effectively to release tension and promote mobility

  • Develop safe and effective teaching techniques for guiding students through myofascial release practices

  • Understand the mechanics of teaching yin yoga classes, including keeping joints safe, creating safe and beneficial yin sequences and incorporating yin poses into your yang classes

  • Learn to integrate myofascial release techniques seamlessly into yoga sequences, creating balanced and holistic classes that address both physical and energetic aspects of wellbeing

  • Understand the principles of energetic anatomy, including the subtle energy systems of Prana, Nadis, and Chakras, and their interconnectedness with the physical body

  • Explore the relationship between myofascial release and energetic flow, and understand how releasing physical tension can facilitate the flow of prana throughout the body

  • Practice regulating prana vayus (the movements of prana) through specific yoga practices, including asana, pranayama and meditation

  • Enhance your own personal practice through experiential learning, self-reflection and integration of our course content
