Understand WHY yoga works:

Yoga's role in stress reduction

According to the Mental Health Foundation, in 2023:

60% of UK adults experienced anxiety that interfered with their daily lives.

Just take a moment to reflect on that.

If you’re teaching yoga, the chances are you’re teaching people who are living with stress and anxiety every single day.

We live in an exciting time to be a yoga teacher

For centuries, yogis have spoken about the power of breath, movement, awareness and stillness to reduce suffering, and now, modern science is starting to confirm it. In this workshop, we’ll bring together:

  • Ancient yogic wisdom

  • Modern neuroscience

  • Practical tools you can use immediately in your teaching

In this free workshop, you’ll:

✨ Explore the two human responses to stress

✨ Understand how stress affects the brain and body

✨ Learn the key mechanisms through which yoga reduces stress and anxiety

✨ Reignite your passion for helping others

✨ Leave with a practical, reliable toolkit for stress reduction

A quick look at stress…

When humans are exposed to a stressor, there are two main responses:

  • The sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight)

  • The HPA axis (the hormonal stress response)

These are survival mechanisms. Their job is to keep you alive. That’s extremely useful if your stressor is a sabre-toothed tiger.

But if your stressor is a credit card bil or an argument at work… then those same survival responses can actually make life harder. In this workshop, we’ll explore exactly how and why yoga interrupts the stress cycle.
